Varin’s Goal in OT Lifts Smithfield Past Medfield 3-2

After a scoreless first period Medfield was able to get on the board late in the 2^nd period to go up 1-0.  Smithfield came back and got on the board 59 seconds into the third Matty Simons knocked in the goal on a sweet crossing pass from Tim Vennema, Charlie Walsh made the first pass to Vennema on a great hustle play.  Later in the third Smithfield took advantage of a 5 on 3 when Dave Gaulin, assisted by Logan Clavet and Luca Ragosta, knocked it past the Medfield net minder.  Medfield went on a power play late in the third and Smithfield showed an outstanding effort and was able to kill it off.  However, Medfield continued to battle and was able to score with 1:52 left in the third.  The third period ended dead locked at 2-2.  Into OT Jimmy Varin knocks in the rebound off Luca Ragosta shot to give Smithfield the 3-2 win.
