Smithfield Falls to LaSalle 6-3

This was an ugly game that was marred by a total of 26 penalties (12 for the home team and 14 for LaSalle). 

The Sentinels came out flat in the first period and they were being outplayed and beat to the puck by the boys from LaSalle.   LaSalle lit the lamp twice in the period the first at 2:41 into the period and then added another with a 5-3 power play goal with 8:33 left.  The Sentinels seemed to get their skates under them but the period ended 2 to 0 with the Sentinels being outshot 11 to 7.
 
The Sentinels came out with some new inspiration in the second and were helped by the man advantage as Goolgasion from Varin and Ragosta put Smithfield on the board 4:03 into the period then taking advantage of a 5-3  Gaulin from Goolgasion was able to get it by the LaSalle net minder 6:18 into the second.  The Sentinels were able to get one more with 13 secs left, Goolgasion from Varin, and took a 3 to 2 lead into the locker room.  The Sentinels outshout LaSalle 18-8.

51 seconds into the third the Sentinels found themselves trying to kill off a 5 minute major and LaSalle took advantage with just 8 seconds left on the man advantage and tied the score at 3.  From there it was all LaSalle who went on to score three more unanswered goals including another power play and added an empty netter.  The game ended with LaSalle handing the Sentinels their first season loss 6 to 3.  The Sentinels were outshot in the period 14 to 5.
