Smithfield and Hendricken Skate to a 2-2 Tie

Game SummaryHendricken scored first 7:19 into the period to take a 1-0 lead. The Sentinels were able to answer back on a power play goal by David Gaulin assisted by Varin and Ragosta with 1:21 left in the period. The period ended 1 to 1 however the Sentinels received a 2 minute penalty at the end of the period and Hendricken was able to capitalize 1:02 into the second period and took a 2-1 lead. Smithfield went on a 5-3 late in the 2nd period but was unable to capitalize and the period ended with 13 and 38 seconds left on the penalties and Hendricken up 2-1. 20 seconds into the third Goolgasion from Ragosta and Clavet lit the lamp on the man advantage and the score was tied at two.
The game was back and forth with both teams having some scoring opportunities but neither team was able to put one by the goalies. With 1:56 left in the period the Sentinels took an untimely penalty and Hendricken went on the man advantage. Evan Carlton made some huge saves during the Hendricken power play forcing the game to overtime. During the overtime period Smithfield took another untimely penalty 1:11 into the extra period and once again Carlton stood on his head and was able to secure the 2-2 tie. Carlton finished the game with 39 saves.
